I live in Victoria, and the pattern you see now (13:26 local time) is typical. See that mass of precipitation heading East above Victoria? It travels through the Cowichan Valley and gets jammed-in by mountains, over Vancouver.

It basically happens every day: I can see the rain going past from my deck, but it usually misses Victoria :)
