Isn't he a beauty?

He was "Ginger" but we started calling him Moose because Ginger seemed too feminine.

Last time I dosed Cocoa, the tick that was on her fell off after a day or so.

What's the deal here?!

3. No answers for ya here, just
wanted to send a hug for Moose. I used to have a grey tabby called Moose - he was a real sweetie.

4. Depends on what kind of ticks they are...

Revolution only works on one or two kinds of ticks.

We used to use Revolution, but instead now we stack Frontline for fleas, ticks, etc. and Heartguard for hearworm.

7. Guess I'd better check into Frontline.
What good will Revolution do me - yeah, it'll prevent heartworms, but if it won't kill ticks...

9. Frontline doesn't control heartworm, though
and I don't think you can use Frontline AND Revolution. Ask about Heartguard, too.

15. Advantix has worked better for us
on ticks than even Frontline and I LOVE Frontline.

Heartguard Plus will not only prevent heartworms, but will take care of 3 other types of worms, too.

5. Might I suggest a few pet Guineas

The problem is you let your pets outdoors and you have a decent size of properties - ticks can't help but attaching themselves to your pets.

But Guineas LOVE ticks - they eat them all the time. And they are big enough that cats would have a tough time catching them.

10. They look more like vultures
But the Guineas are relatively easy to maintain. My stepfather had 2 pairs and had a roost where they would come home at nights to sleep. The rest of the day they would walk all around searching for buggers to eat including ticks (and the lyme disease ticks).

However, he had to get rid of them because one neighbor complained about them. They were actually pretty quiet and the other neighbors didn't mind them because they knew they were eating ticks. But this one lady was the neighborhood complainer and said she'd go to the cops (mind you each home has about an acre of property) so they went home to the breeder.

11. these guys I shot have the little things on their heads ...
that's not a very good pic, I guess, but I just loved the babies, lying on the logs like little flattened, feathered lumps.

If we were fenced in, I might get a pair. But I fear night critters would get them.

12. That's why you have a roost for them
they come back at nights and roost in there. Of course my stepfather would close the door at nights and reopen in the mornings

And btw, there are wild critters around where he lived and the only hting that got them was a nosy annoying neighbor

14. You know, if you get them - I could check to see what my stepfather
did with his guinea roost. He made his own.

16. Maybe they are super magical mutant ticks impervious to all
methods of pest control.
