Ever take one of those career tests in school? What did it tell you?
Of several optimal occupations listed on mine, one was "minister," which was fucking hilarious, since I've never believed in God, in my life. One of my friends got "administrative assistant" and after a year of typing class, she could only type about 30 wpm, and had started one of the typewriters on fire in class (electrical accident) and the school had to be evacuated.

7. Even if YOU'RE the authority?
I can't say I'd blame you-- I'd have a difficult time with that kind of atmosphere. I'm hardly a structured or regimented person.

36. Yep! And THAT is why we left the cities!
I was having issues on boats and it was threatening my marriage. Not everyone knows it, but Lake Minnetonka produces an intoxicating yet imperceptible gaseous substance that renders people horny. Stay away, for the love of God!

but I wasn't at school when they gave out the results. I told a recruiter every excuse I could think of. Still got a call everyday.

10. They weren't telling me anything I didn't already know.
When I was in third grade, a teacher recognized my lack of manual dexterity as well as my woeful math dysfunction, and told my mother, "Ya'll just need to make sure she gets into a nice liberal arts college." :eyes:

or "work up to full potential" -- also comments that didn't exactly evoke a personal epiphany.

12. Mine lied and said I'd be a good engineer.
It were lying.

Without revealing too much, I'll say that my real name is the unluckiest name in the world. I mean I'm named after the engineer who built the runaway train and when he did finally get where he was going, the baseball game, he struck out. I fit my name too with my luck. I'm still plugging along and trying though. I'll become an engineer if I have my say-so and I intend to have it. :D

That would take a special kind of person-- I would cry every time I had to meet with a family who had lost, or was about to lose someone.:(

26. They sell plots.
Usually to municiplaities/counties in bulk, not directly to families.

Basically, it's real estate, but a very specific market. I hear it's actually quite lucrative if you're good at it. I mean, people are dying for your business....

35. One of those tests almost kept my pop out of officer candidates school
He thought credulously to himself: "You know, I -do- enjoy camping outdoors. I -do- enjoy living off the land. And accomplishing set tasks, why, I suppose that really can be satisfying to me at times."

24. Mechanic
Mechanic was on the top of my list. Of course, last time I turned in a car I had to have the dealer pop the hood because I didn't know how. I couldn't check my oil on a bet.

I also remember that it said that I shouldn't be a doctor, architect, or lawyer. (I guess the test showed I was a little slow.) Today, I'm a lawyer.

Don't feel bad about the vehicular ignorance-- someone once convinced me that my turn signal had gone out because I needed more "blinker fluid." :banghead: I swear I'm not a moran!
