quick question, why exactly do the lights go out in broadway?
you know, in that Billy Joel song? it's a very touching, sad song, but i've never figured out why NYC is destroyed. did i miss something? or is it up to our imagination?

3. They do it when a big Broadway star dies
For instance, the lights on Broadway's theaters were dimmed when Ethel Merman died.

I don't know if that answers your question, but there you go.
