What should I tell my relative about paying rent every three weeks?
I pay a relative rent every month.... she cashed a check on October 6th, and she just told me on the phone "Don't forget the rent check!" (I'm visiting relatives this weekend.)

Uh....huh?
:grr:

I'm kind of ticked because she wasn't supposed to cash the last check (she knew I was having problems with the car, she told me to "take that money and save it" for that--she promptly forgot/changed her mind and cashed it. I had taken money out for the car, so a few of my checks bounced)--and now here she is cheerfully telling me not to forget, like I don't know I have to pay her. A week early, no less. :grr: So of course, I do not *have* the money to give her right now.

This is more of a rant I guess. I hate money.

1. Tell her she'll have the money...
When she's supposed to, but not early.

4. Sounds good....
I'm just so irritated about the whole thing. Why is she so excited about getting my money when she's already gotten it for this month?

2. Renting from a relative or friend is never a good thing
A casual aquaintance is the best roommate.. Close enough to trust, but not close enough to take advantage of you..I would look for another place to crash :)

3. Well, she's not living here at least.....
We don't live together, but she owns the house.

You're absolutely right--I'm trying to find somewhere else, but it's not coming together like I planned or wanted.

Sigh....things were going so well a few hours ago. :nopity:
