NBA - Massive trades, great signings
Following the 4 team trade that sent Sprewell to the T'Wolves and Keith van Horn  to the Knicks (who are in pursuit of the ignominious title of softest team ever), we have a huge three team deal.

The Pacers get Scott Pollard, the Kings get Brad Miller, and the Spurs somehow manage to get Hedo Turkoglu and Ron Mercer without giving up anybody or anything.

So, the West keeps getting better. Why don't we all weigh in on how our favourite teams did?

The Spurs have had a fantastic off-season. In addition to Turkoglu and Mercer, we signed Rasho Nesterovic and Robert Horry. We may well have the deepest bench in the league now.

Minnesota has made some major upgrading, with Kandi-man and Spree. So far, not a team in the East has upgraded that I can tell.

How did your team do?

1. All I'm asking for
is for my Timberwolves to get to the second round. They were SO close this year. I've been saying for a couple of years now that they need another guy--not another KG, because that's not possible, but more than a Szczerbiak. I think they can do it this year. But then doesn't every sports fan say that about their team? :)

4. I think you've got it
You may be nudging either Dallas or Sacramento out of the Big Four, actually. Depends on how Kandi-man does. If he wakes up and plays to his potential, and Saunders can get all the pieces to work together, that's a potentially scary team.

3. Washington
Guard - Gilbert Arenas signed an offer sheet (GOlden State can still match, but they aren't expected to)

5. great signing
GS didn't play the cap room properly. That's one of the things San Antonio has done. Horry, Hedo, and Mercer are all one year deals, so we've got room to maneuver again, and sign Manu Ginobili to a big contract if he has the breakout year I'm expecting.
