Tats and age
I've been noticing lately a lot more women getting tats, and I know a lot of older people who have military tats or something like that. But I've also noticed a lot of young women going in for them in exotic designs, even know a young woman who has two dragons curled around her breasts.

So, when did you get your first tattoo? And was it rebelling against authority, or simply because you saw something unique that you thought would be entertaining?

Or was it something you did while you were young and foolish?

My friend Barb has three fundie based tattoos on her, now. One is a tat bracelet, the other is an anklet, and the third is a butterfly on her neck with a fundie reference. She was about 50 when she got her first one.

I've thought about it, but have decided (for me) it's better to get a stickon one, which will disappear after a couple of days. And if I really want to get something more "permanent" I figure a henna tat will be close enough to the "real" thing to satisfy me.

A lot of young girls seem to go for the lower back region. Is this to allow them to hide it when they're working in a traditional business, or what?

And also, do you think more people are getting them now because it's not such a big deal anymore? I still don't really understand why people would get one, but I'm openminded enough to want to know more about them in general.
