Favorite horror movie actress
While there are many male actors like Vincent Price and Christopher Lee who have made names for themselves in horror films, the ladies have not quite had the same exposure. I'll go with the European cult actress from the 1960s, Rosalba Neri (aka Sara Bay). Rosalba Neri played in quite a few low-budget English-dubbed Italian horror movies in the 1960s, often portraying the evil seductress. She had remarkable beauty and, despite some of the cheesy films in which she starred as well as her propensity for taking off her clothes in many of her roles, she had a fair amount of acting talent.

She starred with Klaus Kinski in 'Slaughter Hotel', a kind of fancy resort/asylum where all of the inmates are attractive, wealthy women, some with homicidal tendencies. Rosalba Neri played a confirmed nymphomaniac and seduced everyone in sight, including the murderer. Below, she attempts to seduce the gardener.

She starred with Joesph Cotton in 'Lady Frankenstein', where she played the daughter of the mad scientist and eventually took over the family business in building the monster.

She starred with Christopher Lee in 'The Castle Of Fu Manchu', with Farley Granger in 'Amuck', and played Dracula's bride in 'The Devil's Wedding'.

2. From me it's a toss up...
Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween and Prom Night), or Linnea Quigley (namely her "performance" in "Return of the Living Dead").

4. Jamie Lee Curtis was great in Halloween
Especially during the first 30 minutes of that film, I have a very creepy feeling that something bad is about to happen. Even after seeing dozens of other horror films over the years, that film still puts me in a Halloween mood like no other, much of which is due to Jamie Lee's performance.

7. It isn't October until I've seen Halloween...
Her performance is spot on: innocence, paranoia, and survival are summed up beautiful in the simplest of her expressions.

3. Eihi Shiina
Her performance in Audition was fantastic. There is a scene where she is waiting for a phone call..... chills up and down my spine.

The phone scene

5. Not very familiar with the genre, but
most of the women I've seen in the newer horror flicks are meant strictly as eye candy *cough*Love Hewitt*cough*

10. Would Nancy Allen count....?
Dressed to Kill, Carrie?

Otherwise I would have to say Jamie Lee Curtis.

Another favorite horror movie performance was Neve Campbell in Scream. She did incredible work!
