2. I liked "Tad",but I voted Nirvana, because they emulated the whole scene.
They *were* grunge.

5. Mudhoney.
Alice in Chains doesn't even deserve to be up there. They jumped on the Pacific Northwest bandwagon in the nick of time.

8. Are you kidding me?
When Green River, Soundgarden, the Melvins, U-Men and the like were laying the foundation for that entire scene, where was Alice in Chains?

Yep. You get the picture.

9. just because you have a Big Muff Pi doesnt mean you dont suck
Grunge band or not, AIC had much more talent and skills than Mudhoney and all their Big Muffs and Duo Sonics combined

pearl jam and AIC actually transcended their genre because of their vision and musical talent.....your other boys...well not so much.

10. AIC rules

Dirt was a masterpiece - simply oozing palpable dark desolation. And Jar of Flies and Sap demonstrated their versatility for alternating between the heavy and angry and beautiful accoustic material. Nutshell is one of the most evokative songs I've ever known.

13. Pearl Jam
Their debut album is one of the quintessential "grunge" albums everyone should own, but instead of resting on the formula that made them multi-platinum selling superstars they've changed their style throughout the course of their career. None of their albums sound like the one that came before, and all of them are worth checking out. They're one of my all-time favorite bands.
