We had family portraits done today....and for once...
it worked out beautifully!

We had church directory portraits done today. Each family receives a free directory and a complimentary 8x10 portrait. Of course, the photography studio does want you to buy more pictures.

We did buy a package.

I was amazed. All five of us were smiling at the same time! All five of us were facing the camera at the same time! Our clothes looked nice together. Nobody was crying, wiggling, making monster faces or otherwise refusing to cooperate. We have our first really nice family portrait including all five of us (the last really good picture taken by a real photographer - as opposed to Sears or Target - was when I was pregnant with my son).

I'm still a little amazed. (Anyone who has participated in a photo session with small children will know exactly what I mean.)

3. You know how kids are.
Won't look at the camera, make funny faces, cry, mess up hair, that sort of thing.

We had none of that today! We had well-behaved children who looked at the camera and smiled on cue. Needless to say, I was quite happy about that. :)
