It's warm here ... and it was sunny today.

What's the statement of purpose for?

Good luck with it. I'm sure you've gotten this advice, but a good idea can be to write one general statement and then make a few changes to it to make it specific to the school you're applying to.
Yeah, I know no one asked me. I hope you get in though. I'm in the middle of my first semester now, and my brain feels like it's going to explode, but I love it.

22. Thanks.
Both are on the low-paying side. One is for the insurance that will kick in sometime around January and the other is for additional bill paying. Neither is in the field I'm trained in.
And the asshole said that about three jobs.

25. Yeah, I remember that ...
but I figured you were tired and I sure wasn't going to be the one to tell you that you'd be REALLY lucky if you were working three jobs. What an asshole! My daughter can't find a job in her field, either (the not-A/F daughter). It's really hard these days. I'm glad you can at least get insurance ... but I don't get why it'll take until January to kick in.

I hope you can get some rest!

(worked there for almost 2 years) and downsized from the other job(department cuts) I had to find two new jobs. I just picked up this job a month or so ago and now have to wait for the insurance to kick in.
I'll be lucky if I make 20 grand this year.

32. Wow, you've had it rough!
Seems like a lot of people on DU are having a hard time of it. I'm sorry. :(

We're making a lot less than we were when I was working (I'm disabled now), but we do OK. It would be a lot harder if the kids were still home. If my husband gets laid off, we're seriously sunk. I think most people are that close to disaster.

I really hope things look up for you! What's your dream job?

As a matter of fact, the accounting firm I worked for told me to take the H&R Block class...

They recommended it to all the new accountants coming on board to get to know how to do them, not just why things are the way they are like they teach at a regular college....

15. I have two small children. I am recovering from a nasty sinus infection.
My husband is tired. My babysitter is at an Alien Ant Farm concert with her new boy (my babysitter also happens to be my other child).

The two small children are in bed. Later, the tired hubby and I will snuggle up and watch Iron Chef before heading off to dreamland.

Because of a mixup at Payroll, and my donations to hurricane relief last month, I ended up with a major cash shortfall and have been living on the meagre remains of my pantry since last month. I finally got my paycheck today, and went out and got the stuff I'd been missing -- fresh fruit, fresh bread instead of the cheaper day-old stuff, etc. -- and I've got a chicken roasting in the oven.

45. Well , because its what I do
Being a married man with a couple kids Friday nights aint what they used to be. We still go out to eat , but the clubbing days are long gone. Went to a high school football game earlier. That was my big thing. Wifey has always been an early to bed girl, I mean really early. Like 8- 830. So I go down to my basement workshop and putter or get online, and shoot the breeze with you folks. Most nights are like this.

50. I am not in fact at home...
I am near Dahlonega, in north Georgia. If you didn't think someone living in Kentucky could call an area redneck... think again. This place is crazy.

63. Because I am a boring and sad person
with nothing better to do.

I was just thinking tonight that I need to do something to improve my life. I used to be interesting and fun and cute. There was once a time when I never let a Friday go by without getting dressed up in something sexy and hitting the clubs or a party. And now I am boring, unmotivated, stressed out, need to lose 20 lbs, and am cranky most of the time. That's just really damn sad. I don't know what happened to my youth, but I really miss it.

66. Welcome to middle age
And I know exactly how you feel.

Ruts . The best way to get out of a rut is to go on a diet, lose some weight and start walking or excersizing. It helps for sure. Gotta get that self confidence back up ...

But I was way too tired. I was so tired that light made my eyes tear up. So I took a nap instead.

Or they have Martha Stewart come over and fashion me a nice, decoupage ankle monitor. Aren't they so helpful?

82. Even if I could afford to go out...
To paraprase Bill Hicks:

Once a year I go to a dance club, just to justify the other 364 days a year I stay home.

at least, not one I can call my own. Between work and care for elderly parents, when I have time off, I sleep or post on DU.

86. I'm tired as hell. I worked some long hours this week.
Nothing better than being home with the wife and kids, but they're sleeping now. I'm just unwinding and blowing off some steam.

87. I live in a small town full of people that would make the Puritans
look like party animals. I certainly don't want to hang out with that bunch. A funeral would be more fun and funerals aren't fun for me. They are sad. They are certainly less depressing than listening to a bunch of right wing nuts, so I stay home and make Friday nights my DU indulgence nights. Also, I watch Numb3ers. As much as I love math, I am not as good at it as most people.

93. Because
I have already spent my youth going out. Now, work all day with family at home to take care of. As odd as it sounds; doesn't bother me. The going out part that is. Nice to be at home, all my stuff is here.
