"hide the salami" remark by Howard Dean explained
He told David Letterman tonight that he was thinking of three card monte but didn't think people outside NY would know what that is, and so wound up saying "hide the salami" because he started to say "hide the.." and couldn't think of another word.

There is absolutely nothing in the world wrong with hiding the salami.
