Does anybody care what's on Carlos Mencia's mind?

Personally, I think this guy's a giant douche bag. He's just not funny and all the frantic mugging and overwrought voices annoy the bejezeesus out of me. Between him and Adam Corrola I'm really missing Dave Chapelle on the Comedy Channel.

...when I saw his show I laughed my ass off. But, yes his vioces are very annoying and I haven't watched seen him since the one time.

mainly that he uses it as part of his constant attempt to be provacative/offensive. Nothing wrong with being provacative, but he's doing it in this really cheap, juvenile way that has absolutely no substance to it.

10. I saw his show once.

Surprisingly, it was really funny. One sketch dealt with a program for people to talk like migrant workers:

"It's pronounced 'yob.'"
"Job."
"No, 'yob.'"

Oddly enough, my dad, a very intelligent and learned man, is a huge fan of the show along with The Daily Show.

... although I was surprised to hear George Lopez claim that he stole a lot of his material.

He's funny. I find it telling that people can find Chappelle (who is GREAT) funny (who does the same racial stuff, albeit using different races as the punchline) and think Mencia is over the line.

Double standards are alive and well in the "liberal" community :)

12. I don't think it's a double standard at all. Chappelle's racial humor

is actually funny, and that's the difference.

My problem with Mencia is that he seems to think saying "beaner" 25 times in one show is somehow provocative. I don't even think it's all that funny, and his attempts at "political incorrectness" fall flat. If Chappelle stopped saying "nigger" I think his material would still be really funny. Take away "beaner" from Mencia and there's just not that much left.

But that's just my opinion. To each his own.

Beside mencia's whole show is centered on racism, while Dave's show had lots of great humor that was not race related.

Mencia just comes off as an unfunny racist to me.
