Zach De La Rocha Sighting
Saw Zach De La Rocha Friday play with a mexican folk band at a seminar at USC for environmentally sound architecture. They were quite good - played mostly Spanish style music, but they did a few that fused De La Rocha's rap/hip-hop style reminiscent of RATM. One that especially stood out was a song called "Sea of Dead Hands" that was a denunciation of the government's "criminally negligent response" to the victims of Katrina about whom he said "We all need to do all we can to help because the government aint doing shit"

1. Hi Merrick--
Thanks for this! I've been wondering where Zack was, and am happy to hear that he's still doing music and speaking out! That's good to hear!

:hi:

2. Alright!
Now if he only felt the need to get a band together and put out some music that I can get my hands on. Really miss the guy.

3. I heard an interview with Trent Reznor -
who he had been reported to be collaborating with on a solo album a year or two ago that Zach came to the studio, proved to be a suprisingly talented musician ('surprisingly' since he'd never been seen or credited to do anything other than sing) and, according to Reznor, made some cool music but for whatever reason (high standards, he guesses) decided not to release it.
