Poll question: I love the eighties!
Ick. I really don't. But, pick your favorite early eighties artist:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

There is no "other" option - you must select from the provided cheese fest. :P

albums of all time. "Spirit of Eden" is close behind.

(althought I have to admit liking the synth-cheez pop of "The Party's Over" too)

that's the only purely 80's band I like (aside from Marillion).

that music's lost its taste so try another flavor...

30. It was the whole marketing of the band that I found a bit
obnoxious. I couldn't get past that in order to know if the music was any good. Besides, in 1982, no self-respecting Clash fan would EVER admit to liking Duran, Duran. Still: :pals: ?

32. Aw of course
:pals:

Actually I was a little too young to be into Duran Duran during their heydey, being born in 1976 and all. I just discovered them in my maturity, so the marketing hasn't touched me. You know what? The songs are really good!

The marketing was insane but Duran Duran actually have groovy base lines and interesting (if somewhat esoteric) lyrics. Still love both groups today.

23. There's a huge difference between Adam Ant's solo stuff and Adam & theAnts
Adam and the Ants were pretty innovative for their time. Marco Pironi's guitar work and the two-drummer rhythm section were pretty cool.

I still listen to the first couple of Ants LPs... they're great!

43. Had to go Benatar.
I was a strict rocker type, no new wave or any of that. I could listen to Pat Benatar and still be cool. My picks personally of that time would have been more along the lines of Ac/Dc, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead etc. I was also an early advocate of rap/hip-hop, and of course i did like the funk.
