I am so sick of my "friends" sending me bigotted trash!
Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 09:40 AM by MissMillie
This is the one I got in my email today. I checked SNOPES, and it turns out Robin Williams did not write this.

While I do like the idea of giving the Saudi's only $10/barrel for their oil (or rather, buying a lot less of it), the rest of this is pure trash. I didn't realize my friends were this prejudiced--enough at least to perpetuate the spread of this filth.

***********************************************************

A GREAT PLAN

Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan . . . what we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)

I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of one plan for peace. "Books, not Bombs" won't work. The head mullahs won't let anyone read them. If they do, they poke their eyes out.

Here's the plan:

1) The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past &present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini and the rest of them 'good old boys'. We will never "interfere" again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No more sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself, don't hide here. Asylum would not ever be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers.

5) No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else.

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere". They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if any anyway.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, it would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.

Now, ain't that a winner of a plan

1. Well, I agree with the "withdrawing of troops" thing...
but the rest of it's just bigoted, isolationist trash.

2. Point 7: "If they don't like it, we go someplace else"
Riiiiiiight.

Not that I'm against "going someplace else" aside from oil addiction, which has been the major contributor to our shameful current condition.

I also wish people would stop emailing me shit like this....

w/ the Snopes link, and I got a reply back, "Well, regardless of who wrote it, it's still interesting."

7. and you know what's ironic?

in order to adequately debunk this crap, you have to google it.

google. co-invented by? you guessed it, an immigrant.
and then you'd lose a bet, and have to sell some things on eBay to pay for it. but since that, too, was invented by an immigrant? no luck.
so I guess we'll use Yahoo!? er, nope. sons of immigrants.

bloody idiots.

at least they got rid of the stupid line about cancelling all foreign aid to critical countries as a means of balancing the budget.

8. I've ended several long term friendships over emails
and they just don't get it why I find it so offensive and lash out at them. They think free speech is a one way street.

"friends" like that are not worth keeping. We have enough enemies already.

Total untruth - tell them they are wrong to spread lies.

13. Heh-heh! I Do That Too...
... after a couple of de-bunkings, they stop forwarding shit to me. (I don't know whethere they stop forwarding completely, or if they've just removed ONLY my name from their usual list.)

14. I sometimes do that too, but more for non-political stuff.
If they keep sending them, then I hit "reply all" with the snopes debunking, so all their friends know how stoopid they are.

But Snopes doesn't always do the best job with political entries. They confirm facts, but when I was a line by line rebuttal, I google it, and usually find something juicy to send back.

15. Snopes has made me unpopular too
No one wants their stupid urban myths, emails, and virus warnings outed as bullshit. Even though I only ever send the link to the sender, not to "reply all", and I'm never condescending - just mention that their email may not be correct.

We have a friend who is animal-obsessed, who sends us every stupid myth about pets - Swiffer kills pets, etc. I always send her back snopes links, and my S.O. told me to stop doing that, because I was infuriating this woman.

11. I have only 2 Republican friends that I email with.
They used to send me garbage like this. I started sending them three liberal emails (either direct rebuttals or new emails) for every one the sent me.

They got the message.

Tip: google a unique few words from the email along with the word "rebuttal," and you'll sometimes find that someone has taken the time and effort to answer it point by point. It's a great response to things like that!

12. Sign their e-mail address up for stuff, and let them see how it feels
or just hit the delete button:)

I am always afraid to even open stuff that's a "forwarded" email.. That's how you get viruses:)
