"The light will just upset her
It's better in the dark...

You're lips will find their mark
You'll want to hug and pet her...

It's better in the dark."

54. Obviously, I'm fine. It didn't hurt at all. I have a few more "sessions"
to go with the doctor to work on a couple of other varicosities. Next month, another small operation in another orifice. If I discuss either procedure here, my post is DOOMED!

Frankly, WCGreen, I can't see what he did and I don't feel it, so maybe he didn't do anything.

Long story. Uninteresting. Thanks for your concern! We're getting ready to go to Hawaii.

22. Jane Monnheit (sp) is a Jazz Diva
who I'd love to know personally. But Beverly Sills in her younger days along with several other singers I can't remember the names of definitely do a thing on me. Something about a woman with nice singing voice does something to me. Don't need to see a lady in a thong, just have her warm up the pipes.

But honestly, it is the voice that really gets to me. I don't care if a woman's flat chested or nearly so. The tone and timbre of her voice have made me fall for many a woman. Even talking on the phone and hearing someone I can feel attraction, among other things.

39. Ever hear Cleo Lane?
British lady, married to a clainet player. She could sing with him playing and you could not tell where her voice and his horn met. Got to watch my dad's reaction the first time he heard her... wow, he had tears in his eyes.

My dad was a swing era musician and really appreciated a good voice. I learned to sing by listening (alas, only via heavy LPs) to Ella, Sassy Vaughn and Dakota Staton as a wee lass.

I did get to hear some pretty fine stuff live and in the living room from time to time when old friends were in town ;)

46. Yes I have heard of her.
That guy must've been one heckuva clarinet player as well. That's my instrument too.

I never had much exposure to music growing up other than hearing the polka party on the radio. I missed out on that era in more ways than one.
But we took a band trip in high school to hear Buddy Rich. Not much of a singer but it showed me a whole new world out there. That's when I became interested in music. College was only 30 miles away but it was light years apart from how I grew up. Hearing rock & roll, opera, chamber orchestras, and all the rest made me feel at home. It was the best of times and the worst of times. But I remember that period fondly in some ways. My first kiss was with a woman who's now a professional opera singer.

52. I suppose I could appreciate it more
if I were listening to other things as well. I wouldn't mind learning how to polka now if I had a willing partner. It was such an insular existence growing up that I'm still struggling to learn how to live.

42. Love is in the air...
Ernest Borgnine, Ethel Merman and "The Dutch Oven"

From MSN news:

The coupling of thrice-wed Broadway belter Ethel Merman and twice-wed Oscar-winner Ernest Borgnine is one of the kookiest in Hollywood history. The unlikely duo's knot began unraveling on their honeymoon, when, according to Borgnine, he garnered the lion's share of fan attention, which left Merman seething. "By the time we got home, it was hell on earth," he recalled in 2001. "And after 32 days I said to her, 'Madam, bye.'" But things weren't exactly coming up roses for the Merm: she was allegedly subjected to the silent and deadly "Dutch Oven," which involved Borgnine releasing toxic fumes in bed while trapping her under the sheets. Merman, who never again married, devoted a chapter of her autobiography to the Borgnine marriage: It consisted of one blank page.
