Serious photographers: Question
I have an old non Maxxum Minolta camera with several lenses and a flash attachment. Do the non Maxxum lenses work in a Maxxum camera (I know they do not autofocus, but do they fit?)

I would like to replace the body with a digital Minolta body, but since the lenses are not Maxxum lenses, I am not sure if it will work.

1. Well, my dear KW.....I am not a serious photographer...
I rather doubt that your lenses will work...a camera store person could probably tell you....

Or someone in a photo lab could tell you....You know, I know someone in Hermosa Beach who would know...would you like me to ask him?

This is a fellow who runs this lab, and he also does print regular film for photographs....I have gone to him many times for advice, and he is a real resource..

If you can't find out, I'd be glad to do it for you....

2. I will let you know...
I hope to be able to use the old lenses, like you can...I would still have to manually focus them, but that is not a bad thing IMHO.

3. I don't know personally
but a friend bought a Minolta digital body because he hoped to use his older Minolta lenses with it. They all fit and operated, but the quality was bad. He found out that he needed to buy newer Minolta lenses for his D-SLR to get the kind of quality he expected.

I would suggest renting a Minolta D-SLR and trying it with your lenses to make sure that they work, even if the folks at the camera store say they will.
