Yeeha! Cut it down! wooohoo!
Just stumbled across this pic. Reminds of how the tallest tree in the world used to be in North Van... but then some fucker cut it down and sold it.

alleged to by a scientist. Aided by the US Forest 'Service'

3. Oh well
This earth will continue to kick our asses over and over. It will be here long after it decides it has had enough of us. I think people underestimate the power of the planet. Yeah, it sucks at the shit we do to it, but it just takes a few minutes for it to flick us all off into oblivion.

4. Hell, I'm pissed at my neighbor for trimming my tree too tightly...
Cutting down trees just for the sake of it is bullshit.

6. There is a cross section slice of an enormous tree
at the Museum of Natural History in NYC. Every time I see it, all I can think of is why in the world someone would see something like that and want to cut it down.

It reminds me (bear with me here) of the book "The Swiss Family Robinson" (not the idiotic Disney movie; don't get me wrong - the book is idiotic in its own way).

In this book, this family gets shipwrecked on this incredible island. It's incredible because of the variety of wildlife on it. There are penguins and flamingos squawking on the beaches together, hippos, wild donkeys, lions, ostriches, kangaroos, a snake large enough to eat one of the aforementioned donkeys - the family has never seen any of these creatures and every time they see a new one, what do they do? They shoot it so they can check it out. :wtf:

I just don't understand that way of thinking.
