Which I'm going to follow with his Glagolitic Mass.

Apologies for the lack of accents on the name - I can't remember the short-cuts and can't quite be bothered to open Word and cut-paste across.

Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 04:40 PM by mvd
iTunes had her as a free download of the week. I love what I've heard! She has a rootsy sound a la Dylan, but she makes it her own. I'll be buying her CD for sure!

BTW, I took a chance on the Emma Roberts and bought the CD. I like high quality bubblegum. Lower quality would include boy bands, B*Witched, Spice Girls, Hilary Duff, and Ashlee Simpson.

I just received the Emma Roberts CD. It's good bubblegum music, like I thought. I didn't expect profound lyrics or lyrics I could relate to from her - though Jill Sobule, a writer on the album, does do a good job of seeing Emma's viewpoint. I give it a 3 out of 4 - good for if you just want fun music.

Right now, I'm listening to Malloy. No music.

ON EDIT: decided that 3 is almost always a B, so I changed the star rating to 3

26. Well just now I have Leaky Little Boat in my head
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 04:43 PM by redqueen
Not that anyone's heard it... but...

I awake from a long, deep sleep
In a leaky little boat on a wide blue sea
I spy no island, rock or shore
And the sea, she’s a-comin’ to me through a hole in the floor

And the tide come in and the tide go out
And the waves they come toss my little boat about
And the sky turn black and the sky turn blue
I got no pail, no sail, no anchor, too
Just a leaky little boat

And as I wake I look around
I have no notion where I’m bound
So many different colored boats I see
Are all leaky, lonely and driftin’
Just like me

And the tide come in and the tide go out….
I spy no island rock or shore
And the sea keeps a-comin’ to me through a hole in the floor
Of my leaky little boat

Alone, adrift, together are we
Slowly sinkin’ in a deep blue sea
But we smile and we wave
And we say, “I’m afraid…and I love you…and here we go…”

I had a few of their CDs in college, but they were sent to the resale shop soon thereafter.

For some reason I got the urge to buy Cigar and Wish You Were Here singles last night.
