Salt and pepper shaker question
What's the rule?!

We just got a lovely set of dinnerware with a proper salt and pepper shaker. Never had one in my life before. Not marked which one is which. One has three holes on top, the other five.

Is there some rule about which is which? Or can we do it any damn way we want?

The salt shaker will have more holes than the pepper shaker.

5. Because...
Salt is more "popular" than pepper. Meaning...people want more salt on their food than pepper. Pepper is shaken on much more sparingly than salt.

PUT the salt in the three-holed shaker. Then laugh when people keep making that continuous masturbation movement trying to get the salt out.
