Poll question: Favorite Seinfeld Episode
Mine is the one where Elaine finds out Puddy is religious when she borrows his car and all the stations are set to Christian Rock
Jerry: "it's a used car, he probably didn't reprogram the stations."
Elaine: "Yes, he is lazy."
George: "Maybe he didn't know how to reprogram them."
Elaine: "Yes, he is dumb."
Jerry: "So you're ok with dumb and lazy, but not religious?"
Elaine: "Hey, dumb and lazy I understand."

Then she pries the jesus fish off his car.

13. The Pony Remark
JERRY: I know, I hated those kids. In fact, I hate anyone that ever had a pony when they were growing up.

MANYA: ..I had a pony.

(The room is dead quiet)

JERRY: ..Well, I didn't really mean a pony, per se.

MANYA: (Angry) When I was a little girl in Poland, we all had ponies. My sister had pony, my cousin had pony, ..So, what's wrong with that?

JERRY: Nothing. Nothing at all. I was just merely expressing..

HELEN: Should we have coffee? Who's having coffee?

MANYA: He was a beautiful pony! And I loved him.

JERRY: Well, I'm sure you did. Who wouldn't love a pony? Who wouldn't love a person that had a pony?

MANYA: You! You said so!

JERRY: No, see, we didn't have ponies. I'm sure at the time in Poland, they were very common. They were probably like compact cars..

MANYA: That's it! I've had enough! (She leaves the room)

ISAAC: Have your coffee, everyone. She's a little upset. It's been an emotional day.

(Isaac leaves, everyone looks at Jerry)

JERRY: I didn't know she had a pony. How was I to know she had a pony? Who figures an immigrant's going to have a pony? Do you know what the odds are on that? I mean, in all the pictures I saw of immigrants on boats coming into New York harbor, I never saw one of them sitting on a pony. Why would anybody come here if they had a pony? Who leaves a country packed with ponies to come to a non-pony country? It doesn't make sense.. am I wrong?

40. Believe it or not, that ending was a total accident.
The original joke was just remembering where the car was parked and all the trouble they got in along the way just trying to find it. The big screen TV, getting busted by the rent-a-cops for pissing in the corner, etc. After all of that they were supposed to get in the car and drive off into the sunset at the end.

The car not starting, and the laughter from the cast as a result was not scripted. But it worked so well that they left it in. I couldn't imagine the episode with any other ending now.

72. My favorite bit of physical comedy: the catsup squirt
In the diner, Jerry is telling George how he was talking dirty with his date. You know, the usual. George: What usual? What do I know from usual? Jerry leans over to whisper to George what was said, and George involuntarily squeezes the catsup dispenser and a perfect arc of catsup goes flying.

right off his head and runs to the window and screams: "I don't like this thing! And here's what I'm doing with it!"

where George tries to convince the daughter of a neighbor of his parent's that he isn't crazy. Where Jerry wears glasses at the behest of Elaine and Kramer: Elaine because she doesn't want to sit next to Lloyd Braun at the movies and because Kramer doesn't want Lloyd to think that people are avoiding him because of his nervous breakdown. 'Twas a marvelous episode. Larry David even appears in it at the end.

Some of my favorites are the ones where Elaine doesn't know if her boyfriend is black or white and all the confusion that results.

"There's nothing dirtier than a big ball of oil."

This is the one where Kramer gets an intern, George's employer (Gordon Jump) tries to make it impossible for George to get into his office, and a lot more...

"Apparently your entire business consists of a disorganized man in a cramped apartment that may or may not contain a chicken."

"And with Josh's help, we'll GET that chicken!"

(Quotes recreated from faulty faulty memory)

63. Schmoopie
(episode otherwise known as "The Soup Nazi")

George to Elaine: "They actually had a 15 minute discussion over which one of them was called schmoopie."

http://www.tv.com/seinfeld/the-soup-nazi/episode/2356/summary.html

While on their way to the "soup place" Elaine finds an antique armoire she wants. George makes a mistake while trying to get his soup from the "Soup Nazi." Elaine isn't allowed to move her armoire into her building, so Kramer offers to watch it for her, out on the street. George and Elaine discuss how annoyed they are by Jerry's sweet-talking with his current girlfriend, especially their calling each other "Schmoopie". Elaine makes an ordering error in front of the "Soup Nazi," gets on his bad side and is banned for a year. In broad daylight and in Kramer's presence, two "tough" guys come along and take Elaine's armoire. Kramer relates the story of the armoire to the "Soup Nazi," who says he has an armoire in the basement that Kramer can have. Jerry's girlfriend makes a faux pas in the "soup place" and Jerry disavows any knowledge of her. George confronts Jerry and reminds him about their pact. George and Susan see Jerry and his girlfriend at the diner and they begin to compete against each other. Susan appreciates that George is finally showing his feelings in public. Kramer gives Elaine the armoire and tells her where he got it. Elaine goes to thank the "Soup Nazi" but gets even further on his bad side. Jerry discovers the armoire contains the "Soup Nazi"'s recipes and Elaine takes them for her final confrontation with the "Soup Nazi."

66. He Didn't Hijack It!
He was on a bus and a robber hurt the driver, so Kramer was fighting him off, driving the bus, trying to get the driver to the emergency room.

That's why the "you're batman" line. Kramer was a superhero!

Remember that hijacking is a crime, and we DU'ers are nothing but law-abiding folks.

70. i have 2 - the backwards one and the subway one
The episode that went completely backwards was an absolute classic - it was the one where Elaine was going to India for a wedding and Kramer had that lollipop that kept getting bigger and bigger (because the show was going in reverse).

Then the one where Elaine was going to the lesbian wedding and they got stuck on the subway and Elaine had that giant gift in her arms and she had to keep explaining to people that she was the best man at a lesbian wedding. "I'm not a lesbian! I hate men, but I'm not a lesbian!"
