Certain Teachers - a rant!

My son just started High School on 1 September. Everything counts now...and that fact is being drummed into his head, and mine. There was an issue last Thursday in one of his classes. I have emailed the teacher of this class twice and left voicemail messages...Teacher has not returned my calls, nor has he returned my emails...In the meantime, my son has spoken to the teacher about the issue, and has not gotten a straight answer from him.

I am giving him until the end of the week to respond to me, before I start getting the counseling department, and/or the administration involved.

Should I be doing more???

1. Call tomorrow and talk to the counselor

Or the Assistant Principal, or the Principal...depending on what the problem was. Let them know that the teacher has not responded, and that you are trying to take care of the problem. Things come home from school all of the time about parental involvement. The problem comes when the parents are involved and the teacher isn't.

...your child's teacher now has *about* 160 students per day to teach, and precious little time for phone calls and/or e-mail. It's not like K-8.(smile)

The counselors have triple that as far as students assigned...His other teachers have gotten right back to me.
