7. Could be that no-one found it funny enough to comment on...
American humor can be odd sometimes...

I'm sorry no-one commented...

8. I can't take Prickly City
It's a right-wing POS like Mallard Fillmore. The subtext of the strip you posted is that "We, the Righteous Republicans of Amurika, won't let you forget 9-11, because it provides every jingoistic rationale we can conjure to manufacture more war and fear".

The idea that America is somehow holy or special, and therefore should be immune from such acts of terror is our undoing. We went backwards, instead of forward, because of 9-11. America was shocked into the awareness that the shit-chickens came home to roost, and we reacted by sticking our heads up our ass, denying it, and singing God Bless America in a circle jerk around a Bush poster.

Only now, after Katrina, are most Americans waking up. But it's too late. The 4 year coma produced lasting brain damage.

But this isn't to denigrate your reaction, it is honest and heartfelt, and what I said above doesn't apply in your case - but the strip and its typical contents reminded me of how they exploit common American emotions to assauge their own sense of what being a "correct" American is. It is maudlin and trite.

I was one of the 10% against Bush then, and I am now. That is one thing I will "never forget" come 9-11 every year.

9. Oh I agree completely my dear ZombyWoof...
Your sentiments are right on...

But THIS cartoon caught me completely by surprise...and so did the lump in my throat, and the prickle of tears in my eyes...

I just felt it had to be seen...

Anytime I see thngs that show the shadow of the Twin towers...

I get all tearful...

What a horrific loss...

I do appreciate your comments, however, truly I do...Thank you for them...

10. It's hard not to remember that day and not be sad
and it still pisses me off to see the other side use this as a political tool. But people like us see still feel the sorrow for all those affected by this AND all horrific acts commited all over the world
