Hey! Lounge guitar fans,
have you heard of Dave Prichard? If not you are missing out. Do yourself a favor and check out "Chemical Euphoria" or the (admittedly out of step with today) ode to political disaffection: "Book of Blood."

I'll wager his band was one which few DUers would check out without a little prodding--and since he died in 1990 from leukemia--a bunch of digging. I just like it when an artist so clearly "gets" their own art. Spiritual fire and passion, delivered by the truckload--not the shotglass. Just the way I like it.

RIP Dave, you are still missed fifteen years on, oh what might have been...

1. I remember Armored Saint
It's been years since I listened to them; I'll see if I have any of their records around the house..

3. I don't know why I dug out Raising Fear the other day
but damn is his guitar playing awe-inspiring, Even the tunes I don't like a lot have something to offer. March of the Saint was more than a little flat, but once the band ran into drug problems, money problems and a few years of life on the road with scant success, they became bitter and grew into their own.

Wow, was Raising Fear a surprise when I heard it, their anger and hunger served them well. I've seen and heard guitarists ranging from Adrian Legg to a guy who used to play for Zappa (that's A to Z) and Dave Prichard might just be my favorite.
