Just installed my Vontage phone system. I need help!
No problem installing the system and connected my cordless phone to Telephone 1. Got a dial tone right away. So I made two phone calls and each time the phone went dead after about 5 minutes.

Anyone else experienced this?

BTW, I am using a router and have High-Speed Cable.

TIA.

1. Just guess-timating but have you updated the router driver/firmware?

2. I have Packet8 but you might have problems having your 2.4 giz too close
to either the modem or router, which can cause interference.

3. You may be right. I am testing it now. Moved everthing around
so that the modem was not close to router etc. Just had a 5 min conversation and it didn't cut off.

Hopefully, that is the problem

Thank you!

6. by the way be sure
to sign the on-line 911 agreement or they may cut your service, there is a short time left to do this but they are talking about extending it

it just states that you may not have 911 capabilities, I used my cell during the arson at my place. The land base phone line was burned out anyway so I couldn't have used if I had tried.

The cable modem phone still worked until the circuit blew.

8. Update.....just got this email from Vonage
We have successfully ported your existing phone number to your Vonage account. You will most likely need to reboot your "Digital Phone Adapter" in order to activate this number on your device. Simply unplug the power cable for 20 seconds and plug it back in again. Please wait about 5 minutes for the device to register. You should then hear a dial tone and be able to make calls.

You will still be able to make outgoing calls using your current home phone jacks with your original phone number, as well as with our device until midnight tonight when the change will be completed in full. At that time your original phone number will be completely available only through Vonage. You do not need to contact your previous provider to disconnect the line. This is taken care of during the transfer of your number to Vonage. Please be advised that you will receive a final bill from your previous provider.

During the transfer of your number to Vonage you may experience down time. Typically the loss of your service will last between one to two hours.

BTW, It's back! Just cut off again. Went totally dead after about 5 minutes
