Today is my birthday.

I turned 57 on a day when millions are homeless and thousands have drowned. There have been better birthdays.

My mother still sends me a birthday card with a twenty dollar bill in it. That twenty is going to hurricane relief. And if my husband thinks we are going out to eat, that money can go to hurricane relief, too.
