What are your worst problems and worries right now?
1. I told my husband I'd make my mom's chicken and rice today, but we have no cream of chicken soup (a vital ingredient), and I don't have time to run to the store.

2. I won't know my bar exam results for another 2 months.

3. The snickerdoodles I just ate were crunchy, not soft the way I like them.

Boy, it's pretty trivial in comparison to what the Gulf Coasters are suffering through now. I can't complain at all about my stupid little life!

1. Nothing that merits whining today
I have nothing to complain about. I've been reminded of that. :(

2. Nothing...
Compared to the suffering that some people are going through. They've lost everything. I'm grateful to have a roof over my head and food in my fridge right now after some of what I've seen the last day or so.

4. letsee
1) I still need $6600 to get my teeth crowned (My sister's ex sent me a grand though-sweet!);

2) I am still having health problems from chemo and radiation and surgery from a couple years ago;

3) I could sink a grand into my car just to do some necessary servicing and stuff fixed.

BUT-

1) I could need this dental work and be living in the south or Iraq or not have gotten a bit of help from Sis's ex;

2) I could still be having health problems and be living in the south-if I'd lived in Iraq, I'd be dead from cancer;

3) If I were living in the south, I probably wouldn't have a car to worry about after yesterday, and if I lived in Iraq, I probably wouldn't have a car.

I am healthy enough to walk my dog, drive my car and work in the garden.

Damn I hate crunchy snickerdoodles. I feel your pain! :P

5. I broke my pinky toe this morning...
and then about an hour later, I was watching the news and went into the bathroom and threw up.

God, I just can't even fathom what the Gulf Coasters are going through right now. We got hit by Isobel here about 2 years ago. It had already been downgraded to a tropical storm when it hit us but the storm surge in the Chesapeake caused major flooding.

At least once a week I cry when I watch the news but today was the first time I actually vomited watching it.

6. You need a news break
I'm serious: You cannot let the crap on TV dictate your health and state of mind. As tragic as it is, there are always people suffering and atrocious things happening in this world but you cannot let yourself drown in this, because you won't be in any shape to help yourself or others afterward.

Don't watch TV, especially the news. It represents some of the most insidious mind manipulation out there and only affects you in a negative way.

8. I know, you're right.
I turned it off after I threw up and have tried to stay away from it today. I feel terrible for these people. I hate destruction.
