DU advice on a new job
Well here it is.

I am burning out in my current position. I have decided I want to go back to inpatient work. There are lots of hospitals in my town. The problem is, there is one big teaching hospital (the one I want) and two chains. The only postion is at the HCA chain. If I took employment there would it/could be considered supporting Bill Frist the Kitten Killer. (his family owns the HCA chain). I am just thinking at this point. Let me know my friends.

1. Instead of focusing on WHERE you are employed...
...focus on the job you would be doing. Focus on the good things that job allows you to do. Also keep in mind that your overall happiness allows for a better personal life.

I know all about being burnt-out. Three years in this position has me wanting something else...a different challenge, so to speak.

2. Since the Republicans run and control everything
I don't think you can get away from working in some way to support them. Go for it. Hey you have to work.

3. Small Fish to Fry
If you're going to sacrifice your own happiness based on some kind of tenuous political connection, your priorities are out of whack. Sorry for the bluntness....

4. I would never go to work for a company owned by Frist
It has to be messed up. Remember, it all comes down from the top.

What many people don't realize is that there is a relatively high turnover rate, even in poor economic times. Contact the place of your choice and tell them you'd like that job when/if it comes up. In the meantime, there are lots of ways you can maintain while something develops.
