We're driving from Toronto to Quebec on vacation
Can anybody suggest some "must see" attractions?
No kids, just me and the Mrs.
We're hitting Niagra, the HHOF, Ft. Henry - stuff like that.

2. Chrysler's Farm
near Brockville. Major American butt kicking during War of 1812 and a turning point of that war.

Detour through Prince Edward County and across the ferry at Deseronto. Much nicer than the 401.

6. we heard about the ferry
and just noticed where they were in relation to each other.
We had already considered the Ferry (62 to 33).
It's still an option however.

8. Speaking of Quebec City
Dale Tallon, Blackhawks' GM, former TV analyst, and Noranda native, had this to say about that town:

Setting: Hawks-Nords game in Q-City, back when the Stastnys ruled.

Foley: There's Tommy Albilene.
Tallon: Albilene, Albilene - prettiest town I've ever seen.
Foley: I think you mean prettiest women I've ever seen
Tallon: Well, it'd have a hard time beating this town, I'll you that.

Can anyone verify that?

9. If your trip is before Sept. 5th...
then you gotta hit the Canadian National Exhibition while you're in Toronto:

http://mmi.theex.com/

Also, while you're at the Hockey Hall of Fame, be sure to go upstairs into the BCE building:

Granted, I'm a dumb hick from Kansas, but that's one of my favourite places in the city.

I would also recommend walking down to St. Lawrence market to get a peameal bacon sandwich at Carousel Bakery. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the HHOF.

We don't make it out of town enough, so I can't give too many non-Toronto tips. If you're into cheesy roadside attractions, here's a guide: http://www.roadsideattractions.ca/ontario.htm

14. Thanks Telly
The CNE looks great - we should be there in plenty of time.
We hit upstate PA Sat, then Niagra, then onto Toronto and beyond.
We are kind of winging it after that - this is a big help!

11. Montreal rocks.
If you can't spend much time their, I'd recommend focusing your attention on Vieux Montréal: http://www.vieux.montreal.qc.ca/

Also, the "what are you drinking thread" reminded me that if you're into beer, a tour of the Steamwhistle brewery would be fun: www.steamwhistle.ca

If you were visiting the HHOF and then wanted to walk to see the CN Tower, the brewery wouldn't be too far out of your way. It's pretty cool because the brewery resides in an old train roundhouse.

15. Thanks KitchenWitch
the Underground sounds intriguing.
I feel like I am cheating on my homework asking for ideas like this, and at a late date to boot - we're outta-here tomorrow, so this comes in handy.
