It's time you learned the baggage claim rules.
There's really just one:

Do NOT stand next to the moving belt.
Stand at least 6' away.

Everybody crowds up right next to the moving luggage and you can't see over or between them and then you maybe do get a glimpse of your bag and have to try and stick a hand between two of the sardines and snag it on the way by.

If everyone stands back a few feet, then everyone can see.
There's plenty of time to see your bag coming down the line, take a couple of steps, intercept it, step back out of the way, and begone.
Thank you.
;-)

5. Most recently, in Vegas. I was on day 7 of a 10 day 'tour'.... it was 1AM
and the middle-aged large man in the cowboy hat got the business end of my elbow to the gut. I said 'excuse me' as I moved in and 'accidentally' bounced my bag off of his shin when he still hadn't yielded.

4. The worst are when families do this.
You get a flock of 4-8 year-olds who couldn't pick anything off the belt standing blocking the way - they then block their father's way as he tries to get the 6 cases off as they arrive together, thus making everything even worse. :nuke:

7. I sense a new theme here
First the grocery store etiquette, now this.
:hide:

I stand at the farthest point from where the bags emerge. It really cuts down on the elbowing. What drives me nuts are the checkers who can't recognize their own black or dark blue luggage."Is this it? Nope. Is that it? Nope." For Pete's sake, stick a decal on it.

And then there are the chasers, who notice their luggage only after it's past their point on the carousel and they try to plow in at a later point to catch it. Hint: in a few short minutes it'll be right in front of you again. Take a deep breath and wait.
