Comedians you would've liked to see in 'The Aristocrats'?
Me:

Margaret Cho
Roseanne Barr

perhaps Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy in their prime.

2. I haven't seen it, so I don't know who IS in it...
outside of Phyllis Diller.

I'd like to see it, if only to be let in on the joke.

16. I'm reminded of his joke about Rush Limbaugh and his scat fetish.

19. That is one of the nastiest comedy bits I've ever heard
I usually skip it when I'm listening to Rant in E-Minor.

4. I just saw the film. A slew of seniors walked out in the first five min.
It was a matinee show. I liked the film. I like that Gilbert gets his due. I've always been a huge fan of his , especially when he's on Stern. The film was a glimpse into the whole comedy scene. Glad they gave Larry Storch props. I think Sara Silverman sucks. She really thinks she's so funny. She's like the female Jimme Fallon only obnoxious. After this move I sneaked into see Deuce Bigelow. Rob Schneider sure has fun making a movie. Sure it was stupid as hell but I laughed.

7. I was surprised by how strong Gilbert's joke delivery was. Much better
than anything I've seen him do in a movie.

SPOILERS

I thought a number of comics were lame or didn't contribute anything of note:

Rita Rudner (but I've always kinda thought this about her)
Carrot Top
Emo Phillips (Emo is great but I just thought this joke is not suited to his delivery and style)
Steven Wright (I thought his buildup in the early part of the joke was great, just didn't think his version was that strong)
Smothers Bros. (again I didn't think the joke was suited to their act)

My wife thought Judy Tenuta would've made a good addition. Perhaps. Richard Belzer would've been another it would be nice to see tackle this.

9. Agree with all your assessments. Rickles was kind of lame but hey
he's been around so long... he gets a free pass. I grew up with him... Never forgot his guest spot on I dream of Jeanie or his supporting role, lugging around the machine gun in Kelly's Heroes. Gilbert did not suprise me. He routinely SLAYS on the Stern show.

11. Yeah, I thought that Rickles and Diller were primarily in their because

they had more of a personal connection to that earlier, Catskills resort comic era, than for any other reason. I though it was cool though.

I liked the dude telling the joke to the homeless guy on the street, and the men's room version.

I spent the movie trying to figure out who one guy was, and it wasn't until credits that I saw "Larry Storch". I was amazed.

I like Tim Conway though.

My favorite joke versions from the film:

George Carlin (with details that only could come from him, "cabbages")
Whoopi Goldberg
Kevin Pollack (Christopher Walken impersonation)
South Park/Cartman

17. You are right. It did not. Tell you what I did like about the film...
The way everyone had no makeup and you could really see their bad skin and stuff. Paul Krassner looked like Yoda.

what do you mean "only" obnoxious? Perhaps you mean "only intentionally obnoxious?

15. Intentionally obnoxious. I stand corrected. I can't flick through those
music channels without seeing Fallon trying so hard to connect -- thinking he is soooo down, making a Nelly joke or breaking out a guitar and singing a lame ass parody that is inevitably way too long. His 9-11 concert performance was pitiful. His movies tank. How does this man keep working? He must be so loved by his cast mates because he makes them seem like geniuses.

5. Margaret Cho is funny as hell!
I have the Notorious C.H.O. DVD, and that has me in stitches. I admit, I like a little more when she does comedy rather than preach a bit, but she has the right to preach because she is fucking funny!

18. Chappelle and Larry David
Edited on Sat Aug-13-05 08:17 PM by Strawman
Especially Larry David. I think it would have been right up his alley.

I could have done without the Onion editorial staff. They said one funny thing and were painfully dorky the rest of the time.

John Stewart was totally disappointing.

Chevy Chase or Bill Murray might have been interesting.

If Rodney were still alive, I would've liked to have seen him tell it
