I'm here, folks. Don't think I died or anything...

The thing is that I've been working my ASS off at.....WORK......for the past week or so, and I've been sleeping in in the day until my shifts, so basically it's been work-sleep-work-sleep-repeat ad nauseum, so I haven't had time to check out my favorite forum, THE LOUNGE!!!:D I have only one more night of work left on Thursday, then my job tenure is OVER!!!! Then I'm gonna be out of here, online AND place-wise, for two weeks after Monday. Gonna leave the Amerikan Empire for a while. Goin up to Toronto and Ottawa. SCREW SARS!!!!:-) I'm gonna also see if I can convince my parents to move up there. You know, for their safety.;-)....But I digress. After that, I'm gonna be away for a further amount of time, cause I've gotta move into my college dorm away from home. Thank GOD there will be no more working at a convenience store. I'm finally going to have a paying job that I'll ENJOY in my life. Staff member for North Dakota State football (work study).

Cheers.

1. Football staff?
So how exactly did you get that job? My youngest will be going off to college in a year and he would love to work in athletics. Did you ask for it or did they just assign it or how'd that happen?

2. I have lots of previous experience (three years in HS as manager)
I played football in HS too, but I eventually settled on a manager position there, and from my senior year until last year I was the equipment manager and statistician for my HS team. Now my college already has a faculty member as EM, so I applied for a work study to be on the football staff, with a little help from a letter of recommendation from my old HS football coach, who is ALSO an alumnus of my college, and member of two of their D2 national championship teams. So I got a call from the EM recently, and he said that they'll make me head student manager (as a SOPHOMORE, no less!!!). That means I get to do something I looove, get to travel with the team, and get paid.

3. Well cool
I don't know what we're going to do with my child. He runs track. He's pretty good and could make the team at alot of schools. Unfortunately, the closest school to us, where he could just drive back and forth, is Eugene. You have to be better than pretty good to run for Eugene. So that means he either gives up track or we figure out a way to cover room and board somewhere else. He's played basketball in high school, not football because he didn't want to get injured for track. Of course, he got injured in basketball anyway! So I'll keep this type of thing in mind when we get closer to making some final decisions. That's what he wants to do anyway, be a P.E. coach.

North Dakota huh? I've been there once. Drove from Williston to Grand Forks (lived in Montana at the time). 55 mph. Few trees, no birds, no wildlife. All the restaurants and stores were vewy vewy quiet. sssshhhh. And the bars had no windows. And everybody's yards were neat as pins. We decided that was because they had nothing else to do. :-) It's always fun to travel to new places!

Thanks for the info!

4. Correct about ND.
The state is mostly rural, and Fargo is about the only decent place worth going to. (I'm originally from there, and NDSU is there) There's a lot of problems in the state having to do with depopulation that I hope can get fixed soon. Every other state's population is growing except for North Dakota's.
