3. They crack me up
especially when I realize how my teenaged attempts at writing compare. The world was saved from another bad writer by a fortuitous case of writer's block!

... it's wrong, besides. No Spitfire had dual Strombergs (SUs, yes, Strombergs, no). The knobs connected to the damper rods don't require adjustment. They're simply screwed on tight. And, if I'm not mistaken, Triumph puts carburetion at the end of the engine section, which is section 1 in the shop manual.

And, on edit, I should add that the carburetors don't sit on top of the intake manifold; they are mounted on the outer end....

This guy really deserves the Bulwer-Lytton. :P

And not because it's about cars, who gives a fuck about cars, I mean, jesus on a tie-rod, but that someone is so passionate about a subject like that that they know esoterica. Makes my skin go all goosepimply.
