Six Feet Under - Great episode, let's discuss (Yes spoilers)
My god I was shocked at the end when Nate 'passed-out' after cheating on Brenda with Maggie. Did you notice they didn't show and previews for next week show - which will leave us all guessing Nate's status.

What do you think will happen? Since the show is ending, I can see them killing off Nate since it will have so many reprecussions - like the differences that David and Freddie want to take the funeral home (David wants to buy a Cremetorium whereas Freddie wants to hire another spanish speaking employee and cater more to the Latino community).

But if Nate lives, I can see the cat fight going on between Brenda & Maggie. That was great that they had Brenda deciding to go to the Quaker service and none of them showed up!

2. I hated that there were no previews
Is it not on next week for some reason? Do you know how many episodes are left?

The problem Nate had with his bring before may be back. Although it was hard to tell if it was that or a heart attack, given the numbness in his arm.

Here's where I see it ending:

David and Keith will adopt the two boys.
Claire will wind up with that guy from work, Tim (?).
Ruth will wind up back with Ed Begley Jr.'s character.
I'm not sure about Nate -- either he'll die and Brenda will wind up with Maya and the new baby girl or they'll split up and he'll wind up with Maggie. He'll have Maya and Brenda will have the new baby.
Rico and his wife will work things out...I saw a glimmer of hope for them last night.

That all being said, I wouldn't put it past Alan Ball to do some quirky things and not wrap things up very tightly.

3. I keep thinking that Keith will find out he fathered a child...
..with that popstar he use to work as a bodyguard for. Remember the end of lastyear they ended up having sex and it didn't look like they were thinking of birth control when they got all hot & heavy.

I thought that was great last night when Keith did finally start warming up to those boys. I really thought Keith was turning into his father but I think he finally understood why Durrel was acting out so much. Let's hope those 2 kids get the 'happily ever after' they deserve. (ironically David is turning exactly into his mother)

4. David & Keith will get Maya
And they'll have the boys, so David will be a "stay at home mom" and let Rico do whatever he wants because of it. I don't know who Maggie is, somehow I've missed that or my brain isn't in gear. Ruth with the Ed Begley character, that's good, I like that. Claire, nah, she'll end the season single. Seems like every young woman character ends up coupled up these days, time for one to retain her independence.

I'm just blabbering, who the hell knows.

5. Answers, as best I can, and responses
There is a new episode next week. There are four episodes left. The Series Finale is 8/21.

There was a discussion in another SFU thread about whether it was a heart attack because it was his left arm and not his right arm. Also whether he was cured or simply treated by the surgery at the end of Season 2.

For everyone but Nate and Brenda everyone's story ended on a high note this week. Things most certainly will go wrong though. I am very unsure of Keith and David because of Keith's short temper. The show will probably end with Claire being with Tim but questioning that because of her artistic impulses. Or maybe she thinks being with this soon to be well off lawyer will allow her the opportunity not to have to work and focus on her art that way. I hope Ruth finds some sense of happiness although I don't think we've seen the last of George. Rico and Vanessa do seem to be on better terms but his "talk" with the corpse showed he might not be all the way into this.

Nate and Brenda are a whole other story. Brenda going to the Quaker service proves she is willing to dothings for Nate even if she isn't 100% into it. Maybe she did dig the service but couldn't admit it to herself. I don't think Maggie would go on with an affair so, if Nate hasn't kicked the bucket, he will either get back with Brenda and do what he can for Maya and the baby or get a divorce.

6. What radio show was Claire listening to?
When she was parking the hearse, she had a very anti-Bush radio show on. Anyone know what it was? Was it real or just made up for the show?

7. It sounded like Morning Sedition...
I think Nate may be gone
The possibilites are endless...the writers and creators are so creative I know it won't be boring.

10. I caught it, too
The last three weeks they've had a little, almost subliminal anti-Bush message. I love it!

11. I liked the bit about this weeks funeral
The girl's parents were making the funeral arrangements, and Rico said that legally only her husband was allowed to do that. Echoes of Schaivo.

9. I think Nate had a stroke. Remember he was slurring his words?
It may be that his brain disease if back. I have a feeling he will die.
