Firefly TV Show - Starts airing again on SciFi this Friday

1. From what I remember that was a pretty neat show.

Sci fi doesn't make mainstream too often, anymore. Seems like either CSI, Law and Order, or reality tv is all that is on.

4. The movie - Serenity is being released this September and

SciFi may have a stake in it since they are rerunning the series.

brief description of what the show is about?

Its set 500 years in the future...post war - where the fringes of society live like our old west...the government is corrupt, and the crew of Firefly are a mixed bag of vets, misfits, and people running from The Alliance. So its futuristic, with tumbleweeds and spaceships.

And its a million times better than I make it sound...

7. I saw a preview for Serenity at the movies, it looked pretty good

I've never seen the show, I think I'll have to check it out though. Is the guy at the front the preacher from Buffy?

and the woman who is his first officer was Jasmine

Looks like the movie focuses a bit on the young girl, River...she was brilliant, and was tampered with by the government (mind stuff) and rescued by her brother (who is now Serenitys doc)

10. This show is really good, and I'm not a huge sci-fi fan

The acting is really good. Most of the plots are very good as well. The overall plot and premise for the series is excellent.

My Mom (Scarlet Lib on DU) is a big sci-fan, and she told me about it. It's very good.

11. I've met very few people who dont like it

but when you try and describe it to someone who hasnt seen it yet they tend to look at you like you're crazy :)
