Anyone else watch As The World Turns?
I know. It's a granny soap, and that's how I started watching it...with my grandmother.

But I'm wondering what will happen with Carly, what the big secret is.

Anyone have a guess?

2. I started with my mother.
Little kid, no air conditioning so we took our naps during ATWT on the floor in the living room with a fan but I always listened to the story of teen aged Bob and Lisa. My grandmother would always call my mother so they could discuss their "story" right after it was over. Through the years I always kept up with it. My grandmother started calling me after my mother died and now she is gone too. My husband has retired and every day hassles me about it but somehow it feels like a legacy that I can't give up.

No clue. Carly is such a love her then hate her then love her character. Who knows? I am curious.

Hey, a little aside here Maddy. They staked out the house site on the farm today!!!!! I am freaking out totally. Geo studies this week then all the bids and then we go...........YIKES!

6. I think that's what my dad called it
or was that the Carson skit? I am remembering "Edge of Wetness" for that.

World Turns was my mom's soap, so I grew up with it. I can remember when Betsey was born, but then it seemed like she was older than me and having kids when I was still in high school. I started watching it myself in the 1990s, and following the little summaries in the paper, but then I got tired of all the breaking up. It is like "getting together" is a story, "breaking up" is a story, but with staying together, there is no story, unless a break-up is threatened.
My sister points to Bob and Kim as the established couple, but I remember that Bob was once with Lisa and Kim with John Dickson and she had an affair with someone else.

5. Watched it from '85-91 when Dusty, Lily, Holden, Meg, Iva,
Craig, Antonio, Sierra, Seth, and Franny (oh yeah, played by JULIANNE MOORE!) were all in a triangle. Actually waited on the actor who then played John Steinback while working at a restaurant in college. He was in town for some Live Arts production in Charlottesville. I think I still have some VHS tapes of ATWT from the '80s, and an autographed photo of Martha Byrnes who plays Lily...
