1. Have you seen any pictures
of the damage?
I hope everyone survived this storm.

3. The good waves created by these storms
are rarely worth the damage inflicted on the residents of the affected areas.
Best of luck to all.

4. Don't worry too much, Matcom.
Yucatan was smacked by a helluva big rock 65 million years ago, and it recovered, it'll recover from Emily. ;-)

5. I just heard Tulum was a direct hit, and Cozumel
was also smacked. I'm sure PDC didn't escape Emily's grip, but I'm hoping for the best, as that's our little winter secret getaway, or was. :(

7. Initial reports from Cozumel citizens...
are not all that bad. Phone service is still working, no electricity. I have gotten word from two neighborhoods that there is lotf os wood debri, but their homes didn't flood, and no serious damage. Of course, that may not hold for the poorer neighborhoods who couldn't afford to build as sturdy structures.

Just remember that the media always exaggerrates. Last tie Cozumel took a hard hit, everyone said the island was flattened. It damaged tourism for months, when the island was back and ready to party a week later.
