go to the grocery store. place is PACKED. get my shopping done and get into line behind one of the FIVE lanes open :eyes: .

wait. wait. wait. wait.

FINALLY get up to the register. cashier says:

"Are you planning on paying with cash?"
Me: "No. Debit card."
Her: "I'm sorry all of our computer lines are down. We can only take cash or checks."
Me: "Your kidding! How long have they been down?"
Her: "Since about 3 o'clock this afternoon"
Me: "Do you THINK you could have put some SIGNS UP??"
Her: "We didn't think about that"
Me: "Do you REALIZE how crowded this store is right now?"
Her: "Do you want me to ring your items through and hold them while you go to the bank?" :eyes: (Nearest ATM is about 1/2 mile away and its rush hour (no there isn't one in the store)
Me: "No. I'm leaving. I suggest you put up some signs as a common courtesy to your customers though."

looks like we are having breakfast for dinner tonight

as we came in they handed us paper and pencils and asked us to write down the item and $$ so they could add it up on a calculator....we left :eyes:
