I saw the stupidest bumper sticker today
"Vietnam: We were winning the war when we quit." :wtf:

I almost ran off the road. I was driving on I-5 near Mountlake Terrace, north of Seattle. Actually, I appreciate it when people plaster stuff like this on their vehicles. It's their way of saying to me: "I have a very tenuous hold on reality, so you'd best steer clear of my car."

1. Ha ha ha ha ha
I saw one in the San Juans that said, "Bush is Back" and on I-5 going north a few weeks ago we saw one that said, "Evolution - What a Joke".

If people are making money selling this stuff, I'm in the wrong line of work.

7. I know, I'm sitting here dreaming stuff up
it can't be hard to sell bumper stickers to people who would buy either of those. How about:

STOP EVOLUTION NOW. JOIN THE GOP.

13. Why, right here in our very own DU store!
I'm waiting for the totebags to come back in stock. Nothing says "I've had it with this crap" more than grocery shopping with that. :D

2. That's crazy!!
Wow, they really have a distorted view of history.

Was the U.S. ever in a position of "winning" in that war? I don't think so.

5. Yes, I'd say it's fairly distorted
And no, I really don't think we were ever "winning" there, to be honest. :yoiks:

9. And so topical!
I guess when your side has absolutely no justifiable arguments for the wars they're currently waging, you have to dig into the history books.

10. Proably straight from a Heritage Foundation intern; what he didn't
think about is that many of us still remember Vietnam all too well.

Hell, even I knew at that age that it was a disaster. Yay for my liberal parents. :D

19. Ha!
No, he was probably one of our poor, put-upon King County repukes suffering in liberal Seattle. The Weekly did an article on them a few weeks ago; it reached new depths of pathetic.

24. That IS pretty stupid. My candidate:
"If you can read this, thank the doctor who didn't abort you."

I'm STILL making thank-you calls, and I saw that one six months ago. I'm up to "A" in the AMA directory.

26. LOL. How about "How does evolution explain sin and guilt???"
That has to be the lamest I've ever seen, just for bad "logic" and misplaced anger.

I just said "huh???"

My all time favorite is still: "Guns don't kill people, they just make it really easy"

27. Bumper stickers
Well, I'll say this for the individual driving that car - they have a singularly interesting definition for the word "win". I spotted a bumper sticker the other day driving on I97 in Anne Arundel county, Maryland that warmed my heart - it was on the back of an F150 truck and read "Buck Fush".
