Goose Feathers Cause Brawl At Firehouse
<snip>

CLAREMONT - It was no friendly pillow fight when two firefighters got into a brawl Sunday morning about goose feathers.
A practical joke heated up Claremont Fire Station 102, in the 4000 block of Sumner Avenue, when the two men came to blows at 7:30 a.m.

Claremont police officials, who were called in to break up the fight, did not release the names of the firefighters involved. But Lt. Stan Van Horn did say the fight was instigated by "goose feathers in a mutually shared bed."

"Two of the firefighters had been in an ongoing feud over pillow feathers," Van Horn said. "This latest incident occurred over pillow feathers in a work boot, and I guess one of the firefighters did not respond to it well."

One of the firefighters had evidently stuffed feathers into the other man's boot, Van Horn said.

There were no significant injuries and nobody was arrested, he added.

Still, Los Angeles County Fire Chief P. Michael Freeman's office will investigate the fight, police officials said.
