What do you say to shrub supporters who like "lefty" pop culture/bands?
For instance a shrub voter who is a big fan of Public Enemy, or System of a Down?

Do you ask them if they have any awareness of the political views of the artist, or even the song lyrics? The irony?

Or do you just ignore them and scratch your head?

I have to admit it kinda pisses me off. It's like, "I want to be a big greedy pighead and benefit financially from shrubco, but I'm COOL too, I'm 'down' with the best of lefty culture too! I'm like a shrubco Renaissance man! Really I am!"

5. Republican Punk Rockers
The cognitive dissonance is just amazing.

"Ya know was kicks ass? The President. The White House. The system. That fucking rocks. Oh, yeah, authoritarianism. We like that too."

There was a Daily Show segment on Repub punks. It was hilarious, but yeah, it pisses me off. It's like they don't listen to themselves talk.

Steven Colbert: So you're raging against the machine for the machine?
Republican punk: Yeah, raging for the Bush machine!

7. Most of them
probably don't even understand what the lyrics are about.

Like the people who think System of a Down's song b.y.o.b. stands for bring your own beer. It's about having a good time, don't ya know.

16. Probably mocking them.
It's a great song, though, and considering the fact the backup singer screams "Why do they always send the poor?" You'd think most kids would figure out it's not about a beer party.

b.y.o.b.

Why do they always send the poor

Barbarisms by Barbaras
With pointed heels
Victorious victories kneel
For brand new spankin' deals

Marching forward hypocritic and
Hypnotic computers
You depend on our protection
Yet you feed us lies from the tablecloth

Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine

Kneeling roses disappearing into
Moses' dry mouth
Breaking into Fort Knox stealing
Our intentions

Hangers sitting dripped in oil
Crying freedom
Handed to obsoletion
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth

Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine

Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine

Blast off
It's party time
And we don't live in a fascist nation

Blast off
It's party time
And where the fuck are you?

Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?

Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?

Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?

Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?

Kneeling roses disappearing into
Moses' dry mouth
Breaking into Fort Knox stealing
Our intentions

Hangers sitting dripped in oil
Crying freedom
Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth

Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine

Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sun

Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?

Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?

Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?

Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
They always send the poor
They always send the poor
