My daughter is cool.
I go to make sure she is sleeping (she isn't) and I notice she has placed several stickers on the wall. Thinking this is just random child vandalism I get stern and attempt to make clear that this behaviour will not be tolerated but it got difficult when she started telling me that the stickers have a narrative (not her word, mine) and explained the story she told with the various pictures and animals and scenes.

How do you deal with that?

Can't very well take them down now can you? Very sweet.

I used to have a bumper sticker on the door to the children's room.

It said:

IGNORE THE DOG! BEWARE OF THE CHILDREN!

2. You give her a kiss and thank her for the story.
Then you tuck her in and sneak quietly out of the room, discreetly brushing away the tears that sprang to your eyes.

7. I tend to mess with her head a bit, I'm afraid
I believe I've told you before that the first time I took her to a museum I had her convinced that since they didn't have cameras a long time ago, they had to paint REAL FAST!

19. Want some suggestions to mess with her head.
Go to http://iusedtobelieve.com/

I especially like the one about untying your belly button causing your butt to fall off.

4. maybe next time she could put them on poster board instead?
but really i wouldn't have a problem with it, stickers can be removed easily enough with some wd40 and her reason seemed legitimate and even if it was not she was intelligent enough to come up with that story.

11. Yes. That is the correct solution and I provide the materials to do so
I lost "stern dad" pretty quick though.

Females are so manipulative.

12. yes we are! My daughter is the same with my husband
but she's also very cool and tries not to take too much advantage. She did "Sticker art" on one of his car windows when she was about 5, what a mess buit wd40 took it off-no harm done.
