5. Grape Kool-Aid is colored via two artificial colorings.
FD&C Blue 1 and FD&C Red 40, to give it a purple coloring. The FD&C Red 40 is apparently metabolized by the body, while the FD&C blue passes through. Since urine is yellow, the resulting color is green.
8. It's something to do with the reaction to the purple dye. It turns green
when it goes through the digestive tract.
Give a baby grape Kool Aid. The first time I did (years ago) freaked me out and I called the Doctor. That's the only reason I know that grape Kool Aid turns green.
