Svr Tstm Watch 667 (DC, DE, MD, NJ, S NY, E PA, N VA)


THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
DELAWARE
NORTHERN AND CENTRAL MARYLAND
NEW JERSEY
FAR SOUTHERN NEW YORK
EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA
NORTHERN VIRGINIA
COASTAL WATERS

EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 255 PM UNTIL 800 PM EDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 60 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 60 MILES NORTH OF NEWARK NEW JERSEY TO 15 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF WASHINGTON DC.

REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

So that I have a tolerable excuse for not turning in an assignment.

But the way my day has been going, it'll happen at 5:30 and I'll be stuck on the *&%#ing Beltway.

I am right in the middle of that mess and my flowers don't want to be hit with 2 inch hail!

What the heck am I going to do to protect them? I don't have a drop cloth big enough to cover them all.
