I think he's loathe to retire when bush wants him to, even if he is a right wing hack himself.

Only one problem, it wasn't his.

He announced that he's going to retire the constitution on 4th July. He writes:

"This constitution was carefully crafted by our nation's founding fathers, and has served us well since 1788. But just as it was brought in to improve on the deficiencies found in the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, so too we must in honest admit to mant failings in this constitution. Therefore, effective from our nation's birthday,v this constituion will be given an honorable retirement. From that date forward the full powers of this great state will pass to our current president George W. Bush - thence forwards known simply as The Leader."

There's this tiny piece of me that's hoping he'll hold-out for another year or two. Probably not, but it's nice to fantasize..
