Just got back from the emergency vet
One of my dogs, a little shih tzu was having trouble breathing tonight. Scared me to death. I hadn't noticed any problem earlier. Turns out she has an upper respiratory infection, got a shot of antibiotics and pills for 10 days. Now I have to keep an eye on my other two dogs.

1. There seems to be a lot of pet doctoring going on.
I took my cat to the vet yesterday because of an attic fan incident. Nothing broken, but lots of tissue damage in his mouth. It sure hasn't shut him up, though.

4. No kidding!
I've also been in the process of figuring out what was wrong with the Koi in my pond. That's been going on for almost 3 weeks now. I think I've got it solved, but it's been a long haul. Then this with my little pup.

I just want everyone to be well!

I read about your cat's encounter with the attic fan. I hope he heals quickly.

5. How is your dog at taking medications? And how'd you figure out the fish?
I hate medicating cats! But his mouth is so sore, he can't close it, and he doesn't fight me much. The vet says he should heal up after a period of "something like trench mouth." Not looking forward to that.

6. She's pretty good as long as I stuff it in a piece of hot dog!
I've had to deal with meds to my cat and that was no fun at all (not recently).

As for figuring out the fish, it was pretty much trial and error and reading everything I could on the internet. I'm not sure I'm completely out of the woods yet, but most of them look like they're going to be okay. I still have one or two that I'm watching pretty closely.

How did we ever live without the information available on the internet?

7. What? You only have one internet?
I actually got through a bathroom teardown and rebuild largely with the help of the net. I'm glad it wasn't around when I was kid, though.

2. WHEW!!!! I'm glad you know what is wrong. I hope it won't spread
to the other pups. Good Luck. I know how :scared: things can be when one of the furbabies gets sick.

3. Awww....poor lil ting!! Hope the little snuffler is gonna be ok!!
I love all the bull/pug faced breeds and they do tend to have some breathing probs. If you got Antibiotics, she should be fine.

Ya gotta love her to death now, you know!? Buy some ground liver and put the pills inside that, just to spoil yourself AND HER!!
