One of my favorite blogs: Overheard in New York
No, I'm not trying to garner hits for the thing, but it's fucking funny, especially if you're a New Yorker.

Overheard in a corporate ladies room some years back:

Woman #1: Is she your friend?
Woman #2: No, but she thinks she is.

MEEE-OW!

4. My Fav
Caribbean guy: Hey, I'm looking for a Jason Ghi-ambi baseball bat.
Store guy: An autographed bat?
Caribbean guy: I'm not paying fifty dollars for no bat.
Store guy: What do you need the bat for?
Caribbean guy: I just really need to bash someone's head in, you know what I'm saying?
Store guy: You don't need a Jason Giambi bat for that. Any of these bats can be used for bashing someone in the head.

6. and Triangle Sports is right down the block from my old place
It's actually not in Flatbush, but on Flatbush Avenue in the null zone area just north of Park Slope (Flatbush and 5th Ave).

My wife and I had just seen "Mulholland Drive" at B.A.M. and we were walking home on Flatbush. The ticker outside Triangle Sports was flashing the following message: "How Many Texts? How Many Texts? How Many Texts?" Then a guy came flying by us on a unicycle. I shit you not. We looked at each other and wondered whether we had actually left the movie, or were not perhaps still enmeshed in its surreality. Only in Brooklyn, baby.

"And I'm far from cheap
I smoke slopes with my peeps all day
Spread love: it's the Brooklyn way."
