Edited on Sat Jun-18-05 08:24 PM by mvd
I'm looking to be self-employed in a business. But I couldn't choose this yet.

My dad is nearing that age.. too bad there's so much talk of raising the retirement age even more. He's worked such a long time and is getting tired of it.

I take what the tech writers wrote, which is based loosely on what the engineers meant, and hand it to the technicians who then ignore it.

51. That's pretty much it.
Last year I killed myself (making lots of $) over manufacturing documents, Russian to English.

We knew that nobody would look at them. Stuff translated early in the project had some real goofups in it ... never caught. One document was completely blank, apart from the original tech drawing: all the notes "evaporated".

There were some high-level theory documents that got attention, and some of the design specs and drawings. But the 100k pages of operations/manufacturing documents ... nah.

36. Other-Nurse
I've been a nurse for 25 years.I've worked in ER and ICU.I really do like helping people and having all this knowledge, but the administrative bullshit gets old. When you become an old non-conformist,it's hard to meld into the new 'corporate" way of doing things.I liked the old days when you could get to know people and help them not be afraid....<sigh>

The first step? Kill my credit cards. Cut 'em up and burn 'em!
