What are you listenning to?
Turangalila Symphony by Olivier Messiaen here.

Turangalila comes from Hindi and means roughly 'love-song'. Currently on the second movement "Chant d'amour 1".

4. The full suite from A Fistful of Dollars
So sweet, yet so a product of the time, place and purpose it was was written for. After that, I've got some acoustic AC/DC on tap, then (gasp! I admit it) some tracks from U2's latest...

14. Benefit by Jethro Tull
Guitarist Martin Barre's best work...
also, Ian Anderson's best lyrics and vocal performance...
and with a rhythm section like Glenn Cornick (bass) and Clive Bunker (drums)-
It's they're best album ever... IMHO

15. Thanks for the tip.
It's sitting here next to me, yet I haven't played it in months.

I'd rank it up there with Tull's best. John Evan's piano makes it arguably better than Stand Up.

Firing it up now. "In days of peace...."

23. You are most welcome, sir!
yeah, i forgot to mention John Evans, and you are right, though Stand Up is awesome as well.

Turns out Tull used to be "The John Evans Band"... he's been there all along.

"I'm going back to the ones that I know
with whom I can be what I want to be
just one week for the feeling to go
and with you there to help me
and it probably will..."

16. The voices in my head
At the moment, it's my own voice, trying out verses for a song I'm trying to write. The premise is busting out at the end of a massively tedious work day and painting the town red, but I'm trying to work in a subplot about seducing the cute girl in the next cubicle.

"Lila" is usually translated as "play," as in activity that isn't work (kinda like my song-in-progress). So Turangalila is more like love-play. It could be used for play as in playing a song, or an instrument (and certainly I myself like to play the yoni  )

And my big accomplishment for the day was convincing an aging but adventurous co-worker to go out and get Charles Ives' Holidays Symphony, which he did, and I'm happy to say he's very impressed with it.

18. "Dheere Jalna" (Burn Slowly) from Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film Paheli.
I *will* make Bollywood fans of y'all, I will!
Translated lyrics:
Burn slowly...
Burn in the flame of life.
Burn slowly...
Burn in the flame of life.
Your fragile dream might melt;
think carefully before nursing the flame.
Burn slowly...
Slowly, slowly...burn.
What has to happen, will happen.
It won't stop from happening,
just as the sky doesn't lower to the earth.
Burn slowly...
Burn in the flame of life.
Burn slowly...
burn in the flame of life.
In the soft sunlight of your beauty,
I must bask for just a few moments.
I've already seen in your eyes
the dreams you have woven..
There are splintered dreams in your eyes; they pierce me through.
Burn slowly...

Listen to it here--it's got a haunting melody...just wonderful.

(You have to scroll down to Dheere Jalna)

And SRK looks hot lip-synching to it!

19. Let's see...
I was listening to the awesome Electric Light Orchestra greatest hits album called Strange Magic on the way to work today. On the way home I switched to the radio and Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower" was on, which was awesome. Now I am listening to "I Don't Know Where I Stand" by Fairport Convention on my computer.

Foo Fighters - In Your Honor: rockin' good!
